The Deputy Ministers of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Policy and Plans and Resource Management, Slaven Galić and Aleksandar Goganović, received yesterday the non-resident military attaché of the Republic of France, Brigadier Pierre Desjeux, together with the Political-Military Advisor at the Embassy of France in Bosnia and Herzegovina by Brigadier Pascal Hart.

The interlocutors exchanged opinions on the issue of bilateral defense cooperation, current events on the European continent and current events related to the MoD and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Military attaché, Brigadier Desjeux, stated that it was a great pleasure to visit a country with which the Republic of France has good cooperation.

He noted the importance of continuing the process of training members of the AF of BiH in learning the French language, in order to facilitate their stay in European Union missions that are active in French-speaking African countries.

The military attaché also announced the arrival in BiH of a high delegation of the Republic of France in April 2023, headed by the assistant director of the General Delegation for International Relations and Strategy of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of France, Vice Admiral Christophe Lucas.

Deputy Galić said that despite serious challenges, Bosnia and Herzegovina remains committed to fulfilling its goals on the Euro-Atlantic path.

Deputy Chair of the BiH Council of Ministers and Minister of Finance and Treasury, Zoran Tegeltija, yesterday received French Ambassador to BiH Christine Toudic and discussed economic cooperation between the two countries.

As Toudic emphasized, her visit to the Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH, accompanied by the economic associate for the Western Balkan region, shows that her country’s focus is on economic issues and possible investments in BiH.

Tegeltija assessed that there is room to improve economic cooperation with France in various areas, and stated that it is best to initially engage the chambers of commerce in BiH, the diplomatic network of both countries and then the line ministries in order to implement concrete projects.

The Ambassador pointed out that France gives full support to BiH on its European path, as evidenced by the candidate status and the continuation of reforms in the process of accession to the European Union, the Council of Ministers of BiH announced.
