The Foundation for dogs Dogs Trust announced last month the beginning of the biggest free mass sterilization of dogs in BiH.

The campaign is being implemented under the slogan “It is better-For healthier and happier dogs, for the local community’’, and the sterilization would be for around 3.000 dogs (from owners and stray dogs).

The action is being implemented in all nine municipalities in Sarajevo Canton and in East Sarajevo, and the goal is to prevent the birth of around 30.000 puppies.

Among the well-known figures who supports this action is the British Ambassador to BiH Nigel Casey, who said that he is satisfied today especially because all this is being organized by the British Foundation for dogs Dogs Trust.

“Stray dogs are a huge problem in BiH and I hope that this problem would be solved the way it should be. The main motto of Dogs Trust is the sterilization in a humane manner, which is in accordance with the law on the protection of animals in BiH’’, said Casey.

The head of Dogs Trust BiH is Anel Bećirović, who said that those in the middle of the campaign would like to once again remind citizens of this action and its importance.

The wife of US Ambassador to BiH Danuta Moon also lent her support to this action.

“This action is important for all and for dogs who are hungry, dirty and sick, and for the safety of the citizens. Dogs Trust really came to BiH at the right time to help solve the problem of homeless animals and I think that the sterilization is a very important humane way to solve the problem’’, said Moon.

Among the well-known people there was the wife of the Swiss Ambassador to BiH Brigitte Schaller-Schoepf, as well as the Czech Ambassador to BiH Szunyog.

Partners of Dogs Trust in this campaign are municipalities Novi Grad, Hadžići, Ilijaš, East and Novo Sarajevo and City of Sarajevo.
