In the framework of the official visit of the state-business delegation of BiH from 6-10 March to the UAE and Qatar, the Director of the Agency for Improving Foreign Investment in BiH (FIPA) Jelica Grujić participated in three business forums held in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Dohi.

Representatives from 46 companies and institutions in BiH were part of the delegation.

The size and composition of the delegation, business forums, meetings at the political and economic level, and the media attention that accompanied the visit of the BiH delegation demonstrates the importance of creating an image of BiH as a secure place for foreign investment.

In a discussion with entrepreneurs, they expressed their interest in BiH as a part of a region and highlighted the importance of proximity to the European market.

As a comparative advantage is the geographical position of BiH, especially with Croatia’s entry to the EU where BiH will have more than 1.000 KM of border with the EU.

An added advantage was low operational costs, and the untapped potential of BiH’s natural resources.

The investment funds of Qatar and UEA expressed their readiness to finance BiH projects in the area of tourism, energy and metal industries.
