In the Kozara barracks in Banja Luka, the 32nd anniversary of the founding of the Republika Srpska (RS) Army was marked, whose tradition is inherited by the Third Republika Srpska Infantry Regiment of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Preservation of peace and stability, but also the preservation of tradition, is the basic role of this regiment, it was announced at the ceremony. The Memorial Room in which the names of 34,000 dead are written was also presented, which, as they say, is not the final list. Among them are the names of more than 400 children who died.
“This is the best indicator of our suffering by name, surname, so that what is being tried in every possible way to show, that only one suffered here, and that others had no victims, is really not true,” said Gojko Knežević, Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Continuous tensions related to the story of a conflict are completely pointless, and it is precisely the Armed Forces that should be directed towards preventing, amortizing any possibility of that. I absolutely reject any possibility that it is possible for anything to happen in the near future, and I call on everyone for peace and cooperation, life, cooperation that is possible, the RS has many objections to the status it has, but that is it’s up to us to solve it and we will do it,” said Milorad Dodik, President of the RS.
