miralem galijasevicThe Prime Minister of ZDC, Miralem Galijasevic, confirmed yesterday that the Government of ZDC abolished function of advisers in their operations emphasizing that there is no need for that function on the Government and other public enterprises.

“Current duties of Zenica-Doboj Canton are 70 million BAM of debt and our first task was to consult the budget and fix the liquidity. Budget has been adopted after numerous consultations and critics with opposition, and now it is up to us to fix the liquidity through austerity measures. We want to re-establish a functional system and to solve financial problems at the time“, said Galijasevic.

In a response to a Parliamentary question on the session of the Assembly of ZDC, he emphasized that the Government will remain in its decision to abolish advisory positions.

“With the aim of stabilization, we brought the austerity program were we access to one limited public spending that we have to retrench. We first began from salaries through all fees to the use of official mobile phones and cars. Also, we fired counselors, cancelled their contracts in the Government, because there should not be advisors, and we will ask for the same from schools and other public institutions and enterprises“, said Galijasevic.

He also added that salaries of directors in public enterprises should not be higher than three average salaries in ZDC, that amounted to 711 BAM in October.

When asked when the first results of austerity measures will be seen, Galijasevic answered that the first results should be visible in the next year.
