Serbia stands with Republika Srpska, its people and supports the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said in Banja Luka tonight.

“I came not because I can particularly influence the future decisions of the leadership of Republika Srpska, nor did I want to do so, I came to support our people in Republika Srpska and say that Serbia stands with them and to say the same to Dodik,” Vučić said at a press conference after a meeting with the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik in Banja Luka.

Vučić said that the verdict convicting Dodik was “for something that does not exist” and shows what the attitude towards Milorad Dodik is, and it is directed, as he states, against the Republika Srpska and the Serbian people as a whole.

He came, he says, to ask Dodik and the leadership of the Republika Srpska to once again invite all political actors in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the EU and the USA, Russia and China to talks. Souvenirs

“To ask Dodik to initiate a dialogue, as difficult as it is for me, to show Serbia’s commitment to peace and solving problems through dialogue,” Vučić emphasized.

He asked Dodik and Draško Stanivuković for unity and unity on key issues, because, as he emphasized, when it comes to the survival and progress of the Republika Srpska and the unity of the people, it is important to have that kind of unity.

“I came to tell the people of the Republika Srpska that Serbia will do its best always and at all times to preserve itself with peace and will always stand by the Republika Srpska and its people,” said Vučić.

He noted that he had always emphasized the necessity of preserving the Dayton Agreement but, as he says, he was “exposed to lynching”.

He said that he would always support the President of Republika Srpska, the institution of the President, but also Milorad Dodik.

“If he is guilty of not respecting the decisions of the High Representative, if that was the reason for your verdict and the destruction of the state, all the best to you in that, Serbia has been and remains with Republika Srpska”, concluded Vučić.

The meeting was attended by the Chairperson of the Presidency of BiH Željka Cvijanović, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska Nenad Stevandić, the Prime Minister of the Republika Srpska Radovan Višković and the Minister of Finance of Serbia Siniša Mali.

Before arriving in Banja Luka, an emergency session of the National Security Council of Serbia was held, chaired by Aleksandar Vučić.

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina today sentenced Dodik to a first-instance one-year prison sentence for failing to implement the decision of the High Representative in BiH, as well as a six-year ban on exercising the duties of President of Republika Srpska from the date the verdict becomes final.
