The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik said after today’s meeting in Budapest with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán that the RS wants to cooperate with Hungary and that this cooperation takes place to mutual satisfaction.

Dodik said that today, in order for all agreed projects and cooperation to have a larger scope and a new format, they agreed to form a joint council to monitor those policies, which he and Orban will manage.

He clarified that the council will be informed every three months about the development of earlier agreements, reports RTRS.

“Meetings will be mandatory every six months in order to operationally see how everything is going,” said Dodik.

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željka Cvijanović assessed the meeting she and Dodik had with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban as successful and constructive.

Cvijanović emphasized that Hungary understands everything that is happening in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Hungary is very important to us. Of course, it is always good to have such an interlocutor. Hungary has recognized Serbia as a place for investment. It is always important that within the EU you have people who can understand the opportunities and difficulties within BiH,” Cvijanović said for RTRS.

She expressed the expectation that new steps are coming, when it comes to infrastructure and agriculture.

“All these conversations were about how to step forward,” added Cvijanović.
