President of the Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) entity – Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik, in breaks between hearings before the Court of BiH, deals with “demography”, but also with ideas about the reorganization of the capital of BiH.
Namely, Dodik claims, referring to official statistical data for Canton Sarajevo (CS), that the number of Serbs born in the capital of BiH is thirteen times smaller than the number of Serbs who die.
“In fact, in 2022 alone, 23 Serbs were born and 294 died. In a city that had at least 160,000 Serbs and several tens of thousands more who declared themselves Yugoslavs, it is completely clear what the demographic situation will be in the coming years. A city that stands out as multi-ethnic and the capital will in a period of no more than 10 to 12 years have more than 96 percent Muslims, Bosniaks, and have an absurd situation that the population in BiH will be 50 percent Christian and about 50 percent Muslim, and “multi-ethnic and the capital of “BiH is almost 100 percent Muslim”, said Dodik.
Dodik called this fact “shocking”, and after that, for some reason, he compared Sarajevo to Novi Sad, where, as he states, Bosniaks have always been less than half a percent of the population.
“And where for 2022 alone, as for every year in the past ten years, almost 200 percent of Muslims, Bosniaks, are born, more than is the case with Serbs in Sarajevo. The absurdity of the imposed decision of the high representative and Article 203a of the Criminal Code BiH, which prescribes the criminal offense of failure to implement the decision of the high representative, is also indicated by the fact that in this way criminal liability could be prescribed for any action against any of his decisions,” said Dodik on the social network X.
Thus, the president of the RS claims, in the event that “it is realized that the multi-ethnic and capital city will be almost 100 percent monotheistic (Muslim) in a country where the population is religiously heterogeneous, a decision on the ‘Sarajevo district’ could be imposed”.
“It would include CS and Istocno Sarajevo in the RS, and in some way artificially ensure multiethics. Of course, whoever opposes this decision would be prosecuted and end up in prison,” concluded Dodik, Klix.ba reports.
