Milorad Dodik, after reporting himself and his associates to the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), now blames everyone for the indictment, except himself.
On June 30th, the President of Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik announced via his Twitter account that he had filed a criminal complaint against himself and his associates to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
He did that with the intention of ridiculing the BiH Judiciary, and as he stated at the time, he cited the fact that he and his associates supported the adoption of the law on the non-application of decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH.
However, in the meantime, an indictment was brought against Dodik, although not for the criminal offense for which he reported himself, but for the non-implementation of the decisions of High Representative Christian Schmidt.
For that criminal offense, if he is found guilty, he faces a sentence ranging from six months to five years in prison.
The indictment was also brought against Milos Lukic, acting director of the Official Gazette of the RS.
To recall, in June of this year, the authorities of the RS passed a law in which this BiH entity blocked the implementation of the judgments of the Constitutional Court of BiH. Later, High Representative Christian Schmidt annulled the decisions of the National Assembly of RS (NARS) and included non-implementation of its decisions in the Criminal Code of BiH.
Although Milorad Dodik reported himself to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, saying that no one from the Federation of BiH(FBiH) had done so yet, he now says that the indictment against him and Milos Lukic has a “recognizable author and well-known handwriting”, alluding to the United States (U.S.) ambassador to BiH, Michael Murphy.
He also turned to officials in neighboring countries for support. Croatian President Zoran Milanovic spoke about this, saying that Dodik immediately called him after the indictment was filed. Milanovic decided to call Christian Schmidt the culprit.
Dodik and Lukic were supported by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, who said that the indictments were inappropriate and irresponsible.
Dodik also alerted the public in RS. Suddenly, the indictment against him, after he filed the criminal complaint himself, became an indictment “against the Serbian people”.
He called on all people in the RS “to gather around the institutions of the RS – the president, the NARS, and the Government”, because, as he says, the RS, its rights, and property are defended there.
The Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide said that Milorad Dodik is reminiscent of Biljana Plavsic, who reported her associates and herself, confessed to the crime and received a prison sentence, and after serving her sentence denied everything she had done and stated that it was directed against the RS, Klix.ba reports.
