The delegation of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina is on an official visit to England, and CBBH Governor Jasmina Selimović was hosted by Andrew Bailey, Governor of the Bank of England.
This is the first official visit at the management level of the two institutions, which represents a significant step in improving the cooperation of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina with one of the most influential central banks in the world, the CBBH announced.
“The meeting between Governor Bailey and the delegation of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which included, in addition to Governor Selimović, Vice Governors Emir Kurtić and Marko Vidaković, confirms the growing importance of international dialogue and the times of complex global economic and financial challenges,” the press release states.
During the discussion, current macroeconomic trends, preservation of monetary and financial stability, management of foreign exchange reserves, risk management, development of payment systems, as well as contemporary challenges faced by central banks around the world were considered.
Experiences on the responses of institutions to the changing international environment and challenges arising from global economic trends were also exchanged.
“In a time of pronounced global uncertainties, cooperation and exchange of experiences with leading central banks are of exceptional importance for strengthening institutional capacities and preserving the monetary and financial stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Governor Selimović.
Both sides expressed their willingness to continue dialogue and strengthen professional cooperation, with a common interest in exchanging knowledge and experience in the areas of central banking.
The special significance of this visit is reflected in the fact that it represents the first institutional meeting at this level between the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Bank of England, opening up space for a more intensive professional exchange of experiences and the development of future cooperation.
