The President of Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik reacted to the harsh announcement of the United States (U.S) Embassy in Sarajevo.
The Embassy announced that the U.S. “will not watch calmly if the president of RS works to fuel a new conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH)”.
Dodik said that “in the past, the announcements of the U.S. Embassy were read with attention because they were advertised with strong reasons or strong messages in the same way as the embassies of the great powers advertised”.
“However, the U.S. ambassador in Sarajevo, Michael Murphy, has turned the U.S. Embassy into an opposition party with the task of commenting on the statements of the representatives of the ruling parties and thus humiliates the country he represents with his daily writings,” said Dodik.
Dodik said that “no one can help BiH if we do not help it, but Murphy can harm the reputation of his country”.
“The private war that Murphy is waging against me does not honor him or the U.S., which should know what Murphy is doing in BiH. He is not the interpreter of the Constitution of BiH or the Dayton Peace Agreement, nor can he or anyone state which provision prohibits secession from BiH,” Dodik pointed out.
The President of the RS emphasized that for the sake of the citizens of the RS, he wants to point out that the U.S. ambassador is not telling the truth when he talks about the Dayton Peace Agreement and the opportunities that the RS got with that agreement.
“Without the consent of the RS, there will be no cooperation with anyone, not even with the NATO alliance, if it is against the interests of the RS,” Dodik concluded, Klix.ba reports.
