Dodik: Laws will come into Force by the End of the Week

Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik said today that the RS leadership has information that laws banning the activities of “extra-constitutional” BiH institutions will come into force by the end of the week.

After a meeting with all the leaders of the RS Ministry of Interior, he said that the RS leadership has information that the BiH Prosecutor’s Office will initiate certain proceedings against politicians in the RS.

“I will tell them not to do that if they want peace and stability. If they come, we will not allow them to do that,” said Dodik.

He said that he expects that around 300 Serbs employed in the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) will transfer to work in the RS Ministry of Interior as soon as the laws adopted at the last session of the RS National Assembly come into force.

“We are looking forward to them. They will also have a better status here, i.e. a higher salary. As for employees in the Court and Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, the RS Ministry of Justice will regulate that,” said Dodik.

He confirmed that a meeting has been scheduled for tomorrow in Banja Luka on the topic of amendments to the RS Constitution.

“The intention is to remove from the RS Constitution everything that was imposed by the former High Representative in BiH, Wolfgang Petritcsh. And in the RS Constitution there is no Council of Peoples of RS, but only the RS National Assembly. However, we are ready to discuss this topic with representatives of Bosniak politicians, but those from RS,” Dodik added.

He said that RS respects the Federation of BiH, and that RS will ensure the free flow of goods and people, as well as monetary stability.

The meeting was also attended by the President of the RS National Assembly Nenad Stevandić, the Prime Minister of the RS Radovan Višković and the Minister of the Interior of the RS Siniša Karan.
