What did Dodik say after the Referendum?

milorad-dodik-696x456President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik spent the day after the referendum in Belgrade. However, he was not there to meet Serbian politicians, but to fulfill promises he gave to the media to whom he was not able to give interview in the past several days, due to a busy schedule.

During his stay in Belgrade, he contacted the President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolić and Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić, who expressed satisfaction with the fact that referendum was held in peace and without incidents. Dodik stated that they had information that some terrorists groups had plans to cause chaos in the RS during the referendum, but that members of security and police agencies kept everything in order.

When asked to comment on the statement by Maja Kocijančić that referendum in the RS is illegal because it was held despite the final decision by the Constitutional Court of BiH, Dodik said:

“That Maja Kocijančić is the spokesperson of the EU, right? Why doesn’t she speak about the referendum which was held in Hungary, to whom that same European Union wants to deliver thousands of immigrants?”

When a TV host asked Dodik whether or not he is afraid that he and other politicians from the RS might get arrested, Dodik said that the decision on referendum was reached in the National Assembly of the RS and that all political factors in the RS participated in it.

“Bakir Izetbegović is mad because the referendum was held and because he was not able to stop it, through the Constitutional Court or the Prosecutor’s Office. His father Alija Izetbegović wrote the Islamic Declaration, wanting to make an Islamic country out of BiH, the one that we now have an opportunity to see in Syria. When taking over the office in the Presidency of BiH, Bair said he will continue his father’s policy, therefore he will not give up on the Islamic state. But he forgot one thing – this is not the Ottoman period,” Dodik concluded.
