Dodik speaks about Objections by the RS to the Adaptation of the

dodikObjections by the representatives of Republika Srpska to the proposed amendments to the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) of BiH with the European Union do not mean “no” to the European path of BiH and the possible agreement on that issue, stated today the entity President Milorad Dodik.

Dodik reiterated that the government in the RS is against the adaptation of that agreement in the proposed way, because that adaptation would cause extensive damage to that BiH entity and the compensation mechanism has not been made.

“If that mechanism is made, not only for one time, but at least for five years, there will be no problems,” Dodik added, repeating that there exists the lack of principles in Europe that wants to help Croatia to place its non-competitive goods in the EU on the market in BiH without customs.

Dodik scheduled a meeting with representatives of the Government, the Chamber of Commerce of RS, the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH, organizations of agricultural producers and everyone else who worked on adjusting the SAA. The meeting should be held on June 26.

After all the attitudes are considered, they will be delivered to the Presidency of BiH for the session on June 27.

When asked whether the rejection by the RS to accept the adaptation of the SAA poses a danger for the “green light” for the BiH application in July, Dodik stated that there were many “D days” for Bi, but that the RS cannot and will not accept unprincipled things.

“The most important issue for us now is the census. When we solve that issue, we will be ready to talk about other problems,” Dodik said and Highlighted that the RS requests that the census issue is brought back into the legal framework and that the attitudes of the RS are respected.

If this happens, Dodik said, the RS is ready to talk about other issues.
