Dodik: The Verdict against Mladic has nothing to do with Justice, the Tribunal punishes only Serbs

The verdict against Ratko Mladic has little to do with law and justice, and the Hague Tribunal, with its decisions, in this way, only contributed to the distrust among the peoples in BiH and caused it to become even greater, told Milorad Dodik, the president of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) and Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

According to him, such a verdict did not achieve the goals of the Hague Tribunal, which is to identify and punish those who committed war crimes.

“About 96.000 people died in BiH, of which about 30 percent were Serbs, and those who committed crimes against Serbs were protected by the Mechanism,” stated Dodik.

He pointed out that only 2% of verdicts were pronounced for crimes against Serbs.

“Criminals have not been punished. With its decisions, selective justice, punishing only Serbs, the Hague Tribunal contributed to the distrust among the people becoming even greater,” Dodik said.

Also, he added that “the expectation was that international justice would be objective, but that the court did not succeed in that”.

As Dodik noted, senior state and military officials are now responsible for what they did not actually do.

Once again, Dodik denied the genocide in Srebrenica, even though it was confirmed by many verdicts of international and courts in the region, which judicially and factually, based on relevant documents, expertise, and testimonies, verified the most serious crime committed on European soil after the Second World War.

“There was no genocide in Srebrenica. Attempts to ban its denial prove that because they are aware that it is just a false myth, ” Dodik emphasized.

He mentioned that this verdict only strengthened the “legend of Mladic”.

“I believe that General Mladic was sent to a direct legend, and the Serbian people will know that without his command and spirit, the suffering of our people would be much greater,” said Dodik.

Furthermore, he said it is good that the Hague Tribunal disappears with this verdict.

Dodik expressed his condolences to all the victims of the past war in BiH.

“I would like to express my condolences to all the victims, regardless of their nation, gender, age. It is a tragic event in the region, ” concluded Dodik, adding that the Republika Srpska (RS) was formed by the free will of the Serbian people so that it is important to strengthen it, reject injustice, and fight for freedom to be permanent and unquestionable.
