The President of the Republika Srpska (RS) entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Milorad Dodik, commented on the session of the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC), suggesting that either a coup was carried out in BiH and power was seized by an informal group, or an annexation occurred, or what happened in the Parliament yesterday was an unprecedented circus.
“Ministers, agency directors, and representatives of the Central Election Commission (CEC) are being questioned – I don’t even know by whom. All the wretchedness of BiH in a single event,” Dodik wrote on the social media platform X.
He pointed out that the CEC submits its report to “an informal group of foreigners rather than to the Parliamentary Assembly or the Council of Ministers.”
“A minister reports to them and laments the fate of the Radio and Television of BiH (BHRT). The Border Police director cries on their shoulder as if there is no competent ministry to address the issues. Completely surreal,” Dodik emphasized.
He added that one cannot even seriously debate this and that it is no longer just pitiful but is becoming tragic.
The political directors of the PIC Steering Board, during their two-day session, called on political actors in BiH to focus on dialogue and intensify reforms in light of the European Council’s decision to open accession negotiations with the European Union (EU).
The PIC Steering Board welcomed presentations by the Chairwoman of the CEC of BiH, Irena Hadziabdic; the Director of the BiH Border Police, Mirko Kupresakovic; the BiH Minister of Communications and Transport, Edin Forto; and the BiH Minister of Civil Affairs, Dubravka Bosnjak, according to a statement from the meeting.
