The President of the Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik said that “the RS is determined to create a new electoral law of that entity that is in accordance with the constitutions of the Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina”, which means, as he stated, the constitutional positioning of the RS, and does not encroach on the election of members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a member of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Dodik said that this legal solution will be sent to the National Assembly of the RS under an urgent procedure.
“The adoption of electoral rules is for those who participate in the electoral system. We are not ready to accept the collapse of the constitutional position of the Republika Srpska,” Dodik, who is also the leader of the SNSD party, told reporters today in Banja Luka, after a work-consultative meeting with the presidents of the coalition parties and heads of parliamentary clubs in the National Assembly of the RS.
He stated that tomorrow it will be proposed to the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina that the current appellate department of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina be moved to Banja Luka.
Dodik repeated that “there is no Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Republika Srpska until the departure of foreign judges”.
“The Republika Srpska believes that the relations in Bosnia and Herzegovina have been seriously damaged by the behavior of Christian Schmidt, who is trying to impose certain solutions that are not acceptable,” said Dodik.
The meeting was also attended by the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željka Cvijanović, the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Radovan Višković and ministers in the Government of that entity, Srna news agency reports.
