The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik held a meeting today in Kazan, Russia with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, where they discussed numerous topics, as well as the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Russian President stated that Russia’s relations with Republika Srpska have been established for a long time and are very constructive.

“We are very satisfied with what has been done and more will be done. We are regularly visited by representatives of the Republika Srpska and we cooperate in various areas. I am sure that this visit of yours will also be useful, we will be able to use the time to discuss bilateral relations in various areas,” Putin said.

Putin expressed gratitude for maintaining harmonious relations with Russia, including participation in the walk of the “Immortal Regiment”.

The President of Republika Srpska said that he was honored to be in Kazan and to meet Putin again.

“I confirm the good relations that the RS cultivates and has towards Russia and the Russian people. We live in complex circumstances and we are glad that you notice that. The West is persistently trying to persuade us to impose sanctions on Russia, and they are putting a lot of pressure on us,” said Dodik.

The Serbs were bombed twice, said Dodik, stating that young people today have many health problems, which is a consequence of the bombing. It is neither logical nor normal, Dodik said, for the RS to accept NATO membership.

“When the West came, it immediately privatized commercial banks and now they choose whether they want to work with us and they do it for purely political reasons,” said Dodik and emphasized that the RS is politically and institutionally stable.

Dodik said that RS has excellent relations with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

“This makes the situation especially easier for us as far as Europe is concerned. However, the entire leadership of the RS, the Prime Minister, the President of the NSRS, a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I all received sanctions from the USA and Britain. Thanks to our friends in the EU, Europe did not impose the same sanctions on us.” added Dodik.

Dodik stated that he is glad that Putin notices that the situation in the RS is complex, because he recently remarked in an address that he understands the relations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“They are not at all simple and they are complex. They are additionally complicated, because we are still under the Western protectorate, because we are in the conditions of Western intervention,” pointed out Dodik.

He stated that “on the scene is the abuse of the Dayton Agreement, which is most pronounced by a foreigner who is not legal”.

“He has not been confirmed in the UN Security Council, and he presents himself as a high representative. I thank you for your attention to this issue, because if they had the authority, they would certainly abolish the ES”, he emphasized.

Today, the President of the Russian Federation presented the Order of Alexander Nevsky to the President of the Republic of Srpska. Dodik was honored for his great contribution to the development of cooperation between Russia and Bosnia and Herzegovina and strengthening the partnership with Republika Srpska.

“For a great contribution to the development of cooperation between Russia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, strengthening the partnership with the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik – President of the Republika Srpska, will be awarded the Order of Aleksandar Nevsky”, according to the decree signed earlier by the Russian president.
