Domestic Retail Chain Bingo Bought Interex and Saved 1 000 Jobs

bingoA few weeks ago it was published that the largest domestic retail chain, Bingo from Tuzla, reported to the BiH Competition Council a takeover of all Interex’s shopping malls. As Depo portal has learned from sources close to this giant from Tuzla, the information was officially confirmed today and the Competition Council approved this purchase.

This information comes at a time when on the domestic market the growing primacy is assumed by the Croatian Konzum, while at the same time the Slovenian company TUŠ is withdrawing from our country, leaving local suppliers in debt and in many problems, which is why a procedure has been launched before the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.

TUŠ is leaving behind a bunch of workers who are losing their jobs, and the same fate awaited the Interex employees, as this retail chain was in insurmountable losses and almost facing shutdown. Thus, the purchase of Interex by the local Bingo rescued nearly 1,000 jobs, which in the time of terrible economic crisis and years of poverty in the country can be considered quite a feat, Depo.ba reported.

According to this portal, first Bingo hypermarket will be opened in the premises of Interex in Novo Sarajevo, in Kolodvorska Street. Thus, BiH citizens will soon be able to choose between only three retail chains in the country – buying products from the shelves of Bingo, Tropico from Banja Luka or Konzum from Croatia.
