The president of the Movement “Sigurna Srpska” and the mayor of Banja Luka, Draško Stanivuković, announced on X after SDS president Branko Blanuša proposed him as the future prime minister of Republika Srpska if the opposition parties win the upcoming elections.
Stanivuković thanked Blanuša and said that the approach of PSS and him as the president of this movement was recognized.
“I am glad that the approach of the Safe Srpska Movement and of me as its president has been recognized, to put personal and party interests on the back burner when it comes to the general issue and interest of Republika Srpska. This is precisely why we have made the decision to honestly and firmly stand by the SDS candidates for other positions, Branko Blanuša and Marinko Božović,” he stated.
He went on to point out that he believes that unity in the opposition would not have been possible without such a decision by the PSS.
“This is precisely why, aware of the importance of this step, we decided to take responsibility and give full support to our joint candidates. Our support will not only be formal, but will be reflected in sincere work, professional approach and strong engagement every day,” Stanivuković said.
He also referred to Blanuša’s offer to be prime minister after the upcoming elections, which he accepted.
“That is why we appreciate that this decision of ours has been recognized through the proposal to take on the greatest executive responsibility, i.e. leading the Government of the Republika Srpska. I accept such a proposal with a full sense of honor and responsibility, convinced that the time has come to finally realize what the citizens of the Republika Srpska have been rightly expecting for decades. I will be fully committed to implementing all the measures and policies of change that we promised together, with the clear goal that the results will be visible in the life of every person,” wrote Draško Stanivuković on X.
