More than two thousand motorcyclists arrived in Potočari to pay their respects to all the victims of the genocide.

For the ninth time, Tarik Bukva arrived from Goražde on a motorcycle.

“First of all, we want to show that we have not forgotten the people who died, to pay respect and honor them. The message is that the people here are not alone, that we remember them not only on this day, but all 365 days of the year. We want them to know that they are not forgotten and that they will never be forgotten. It is important that the culture of remembrance is passed on to younger generations. Generations should learn from generations, because if we forget, there is a danger that such crimes will be repeated,” said Bukva.

Osman Velić from Velika Kladuša says he is coming for the sixth year in a row:

“I want to tell everyone who has not been to the Peace March to join, come and see with their own eyes what this event represents. It is important to participate, feel the atmosphere and pay tribute to the victims. I invite everyone who does not know enough about this to come, see and be part of the culture of remembrance,” said Velić.

Genocide survivor Enida Mehanović participated in the motorcycle marathon for the first time this year and says it is very important to preserve the truth about the genocide.

“Emotions are strong and it is difficult to find words. It is difficult to look at the places where Bosniaks were killed and remember everything that happened here,” said Mehanović, Fena writes.
