Drying Forests: Operating Team created, the Protecting Plan is being made

forest2The Government of RS adopted the Information on the drying forests. Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry of the RS, besides the measures that have been already taken (field monitoring, introduction of numbering of the attacked conifer trees, air-dusting of gypsy moths, etc.) formed “Operating team for forest protection” which is made out of representatives of the competent ministries, the Faculty of Forestry and PC “Forests of RS” Sokolac.

The operating team defined the course of action and activities in order to overcome problems of drying forests: determination of the surface and tree species that are affected by the drying process; determination of the potential causes of forest dying; definition of the measures against drying agents; proposition of the measures for repairing the damage and monitoring of the realization of measures and health conditions of forests, as announced by the Government of RS.

As it is specified, “Operating team for forest protection” will make an action plan that will elaborate defined directions of activities, their implementation and monitoring of health condition of the forests.
