The United Arab Emirates signed an agreement on Sunday to launch a flying taxi service by 2026.

Dubai will thus become the first city in the world to launch a commercial city-wide electric taxi service.

The Emirates News Agency (WAM) announced on Platform X that the Joby Aviation S4 air taxi is designed to accommodate a pilot and four passengers and has zero exhaust emissions.

The taxi, with a maximum flight range of 161 kilometers and a maximum speed of 320 kilometers per hour, will be at your service near Dubai International Airport, in the city center, Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah.

Travel time between Dubai International Airport and Palm Jumeirah, which currently takes 45 minutes by car, will be reduced to 10 minutes by flying taxi, the statement said.
