12939236_1144884985562456_1033451168_nAfter great performances at the ATP tournament in Miami, the best BiH tennis player Damir Džumhur arrived in Sarajevo today, where he was officially welcomed at the premises of the company BH Telecom.

Damir was welcomed by numerous friends and athletes, and then the BiH tennis player addressed the media.

“The past week has been the best week in my career. After two weeks of not so great results, there came the week that nobody hoped for, including me. When I saw the draw, honestly, I was thinking about how I will have to play in Napoli next week to ensure Roland Garros and Wimbledon, but there it is, in the end it turned out that it was one of the best weeks in my life,” Džumhur stated.

In Miami Džumhur eliminated Mayer, Nadal and Kukushkin, while BiH and the region were euphoric. The BiH tennis player once again proved his quality.

“Victory against Leonard Mayer gave my additional self-confidence to win against Rafael Nadal and Mikhail Kukushkin. Honestly, I am glad that I got Kukushkin after Nadal, because there is the statistic that the tennis players who win against Rafael get eliminated in the next round. I wanted to prove the statistic wrong and I made it. However, I have worn myself out too much for Miloš Raonić, one of the best players this season. He is in excellent shape. Regardless of the defeat, I can be satisfied with what I did. I hope I will keep up the good work. It is strange to talk about the victory against Nadal, I am still not used to it. This week will give a lot regarding my career and my life,” Damir said.

Džumhur thanked the fans for great support they are providing him with.

Numerous athletes congratulated Damir on his success. The BiH national football team player Miralem Pjanić sent a vide message, congratulating him especially on the victory against Nadal, wishing him even more success in the future.

Džumhur gave a gift to BH Telecom – the shirt in which he played against Nadal. In return, the company gave him a smart phone and a phone number consisting his result against Nadal. Great results have brought him a new sponsorship contract, i.e. the extension of cooperation with the BiH company.
