earth hourEarth Hour is a global movement organized by the World Wide Fund. Global initiative of WWF, Earth Hour was created in 2007 in Sydney with the aim of rising awareness of decision-makers and world population about the excessive consumption of earth’s resources and energy efficiency as well as identification of climate changes and human negative impact on Earth.

In 2015, through this global event, efforts will be made to use the power of millions of people who want to change climate changes.

This is the 7th time that cities from BiH will join the rest of world in this great voluntary action organized by WWF, inviting households and companies to turn off their unnecessary lights and other electrical appliances for one hour to raise the awareness of the need for action on climate change.

As in the headquarter building of United Nations in New York and other objects around the world, the UN building in Sarajevo, will turn the lights off as well on 28 March, from 8.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m..

“Effects of global warming-melting glaciers, extreme weather conditions and sea level rise are seriously threatening people’s lives“, said Ban Ki-moon.
