easterEaster is the most important Orthodox holiday, and it is the most beautiful when children celebrate it. What decorates this feast is painting and decorating eggs, and on the occasion of Good Friday when eggs are traditionally decorated, organizers of the festival “Djecije carstvo” organized a workshop of painting eggs for the youngest ones.

“Today is the finale and the best part of the festival. Children are decorating Easter eggs that were prepared and gifted from the association Kolo srpskih sestara. The children have the opportunity to express their imagination and to be creative which is very important for their future development,” said Slobodan Stosic, director of the festival “Djecije carstvo”.

“Easter is happiest day in Christianity and we are now preparing for this happiest day by teaching children to be happy during the holidays, but also on every other day of the year,” said Stosic.

He added that the most beautiful eggs will be awarded and children will be able to take them home, while the rest of Easter eggs will be given to charity.

The children took the workshop very seriously and all of them were deeply concentrated on their creations. With their hands dipped in all the colors of the world, they were decorating their Easter eggs.

Festival “Djecije carstvo” is dedicated to children and children’s imagination. The most significant event of this manifestation is the Festival of children’s poetry and it is the largest event of this forms in the region. Children from all the republics of the former Yugoslavia are participating in it.

This year, about 4,000 children was registered at the competition. By choosing the best ones, the festival was attended by 75 of the youngest authors, and the best reciters were awarded as well. It hosted about a dozen children’s most important poets from this area, which is very impressive for this festival.

The festival is also interesting by the Collected Papers of the festival of children’s poetry in which are printed songs of youngest authors that are participating in this event, and it is printed in a literary magazine “Riznica”, which is full of beautiful and useful content for children.
