AS Roma held a press conference today, at which the journalists were addressed by the new striker of AS Roma, the captain of the BH national team Edin Dzeko.
At the opening of the press conference, Dzeko revealed his first impressions on the new club.
“First of all, thanks to everyone who welcomed me. For now, everything is all right, I was well received and I already started working with the team. I came to Roma because I have been following the team earlier, ever since Pjanic arrived. Roma has a great project for the future, and fantastic players. I am very happy to be here and I will help the club to achieve its goals“.
Dzeko was a member of FC Manchester City for four and a half years and he also had an opportunity to play against Roma. Dzeko believes he will win trophies with the new club as well.
Dzeko added that he considers that the Italian Serie A will again reach the high level, as it was before.
Journalists wanted to know why Dzeko did not have enough playing time in the City.
“I had no problems with the people in Manchester, nor with the manager Pellegrini. City is a top club that has a lot of great players in every position. After a good start, I’ve had problems with the injury. Now I am in good shape and I want to play well for this team“.
The Italian journalists asked Edin whether he had talked to the teammate from the BH national team player and the member of FC Lazio Senad Lulic prior to the transfer to Roma.
“I talked to Senad and he tried to prevent me from joining Roma. I asked him if he is scared, and now I want to defeat both him and Lazio“.
Juventus has been dominating in Italy for a long time now, and the goal of Roma is to take over the top.
“I have been following Roma carefully last year and the club played well in the first part of the season, but I don’t know what happened in the second part. However, now we have a stronger team and we want to win trophies. We have to stick together“.
Dzeko signed the contract with Roma yesterday, and he will be wearing number 9 on his jersey.
