Edward Ferguson is the newly appointed British Ambassador in B&H. As announced by the Foreign Office, Ambassador Ferguson will take over the function of British Ambassador in August 2014.
Ferguson has worked for the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom since 2001, with a focus on foreign and security policy in Europe, Middle East and South Asia.
Recently, he led the long term planning of the Office in preparations for the Review of the strategic defense and security in 2015. Also, he spent two years supervising the UK military contribution in Afghanistan and Pakistan and has worked as a private secretary to three states, advising them on operations in Iraq, where he was political adviser in 2006.
Also, he has worked on bilateral relations between UK and USA, Canada and Western European countries.
Ambassador Ferguson will move from the Ministry of Defense to the Office of Foreign Policy and Commonwealth.
“It is a great privilege to be appointed British Ambassador in B&H. UK is a long term and committed friend of B&H and we are ready to help B&H to move towards membership in EU and NATO. I am looking forward to my new role in this and that I will get to know this beautiful and diverse country”, said Ambassador Ferguson.
