The foreign ministers of Egypt, Iraq and Jordan condemned the Israeli attacks on Lebanon, warning that there could be an all-out war.
In a joint statement issued after a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, the ministers said they discussed the “serious escalation taking place in the region”.
They pointed out that the escalation of the conflict can be prevented by stopping the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
The ministers called on the international community and the UN Security Council to assume their responsibility in stopping the war, stressing that Israel bears full responsibility for this deterioration, which will have serious consequences for the region.
Tens of thousands of people have fled southern Lebanon with no idea where to find safety, as intense Israeli bombing across Lebanon has killed at least 569 people, including 50 children.
