Since 2009, a total of 13,114,335,734.13 BAM has been collected from excise tax revenues, according to a response from the BiH Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA).

Over the same period, more than 16 billion BAM was collected from indirect taxes (excise duties, tolls for road construction and highway construction).

An analysis of excise revenue data shows that more funds were collected in 2017 than in 2018, although there was an increase in excise taxes on cigarettes and tobacco and oil and petroleum products (special toll for highway construction from 0.15 to 0.25 pfenings per liters of derivatives).

Thus, in 2017, a total of 1,472,470,192.03 BAM was collected, and in 2018, despite the increase in excise duties on cigarettes and fuel, 18.5 million BAM was collected less. As of 2009, the highest excise tax revenue was collected in 2017.

ITA BiH in its response emphasizes that the distribution of collected funds is made according to the beneficiaries of income, namely the state, entities and Brcko District of BiH, Patria News Agency reported.
