Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH’s) Foreign Minister Igor Crnadak opened the Embassy of BiH building in Ankara on Tuesday.

At the opening ceremony in Ankara, Minister Crnadak said that this act is further proof that we are permanently committed to improving relations between BiH and Turkey.

The Minister stressed that the main task in the coming period is to improve the economy and trade between the two countries. He expressed hope that the work of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly would soon be unblocked in order to ratify the revised Free Trade Agreement between BiH and the Republic of Turkey.

It would open the door to an even faster development of economic relations between BiH and Turkey, he explained.

“BiH and Turkey have reached one billion BAM in foreign trade last year, and I hope that with the implementation of this agreement, we will reach two billion BAM in the coming years. BiH will also continue to improve its political relations with the Republic of Turkey, which is an important partner of BiH and the region, “Minister Crnadak said.

The Minister welcomed the signing of the protocol on the construction of the Sarajevo-Belgrade highway and called on Turkish companies to invest in BiH, especially in the areas of infrastructure, agriculture, energy, tourism and food.
