Embassy of Sweden in BiH Is Host to Day of FARMA Projects

agricultureThe Embassy of Sweden to BiH will be the host of day of FARMA projects that will be held on 05.06.2013 in the garden of the Swedish Embassy in Sarajevo. This event will begin at 11:00 and will be opened by the Swedish Ambassador Bosse Hedberg.

The goal of the event is to present the results of previous USAID/Sida Farma projects and highlight some of the key successes. The presence of 16 local agricultural manufacturers from the sector of dairy, production of fruit and vegetables and processing of medicinal herbs is expected, and they will present the products that they sell. This event is open to the media, local institutions, and for employees of the Swedish, US and Czech embassies.

The Swedish Embassy in Sarajevo, together with USAID, is financing FARMA projects that are worth 19 million dollars. It began in September 2009 and will last until February 2015. The goal of the projects is a first, sustainable and inclusive economic development through the aid that is based on real needs and aimed at improving the competitiveness of BIH producers of agricultural products. The purpose of the projects is the development of environmentally sustainable production, processing and marketing of agricultural products with added value.
