Embassy of the Russian Federation commented on Presidency Member Becirovic’s Statement

The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bosnia and Herzegovina said yesterday that they paid great attention to the assessments made by a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, regarding the decision of the government of the entity of Republika Srpska to terminate cooperation with the embassies of the United States and the United Kingdom in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Denis Bećirović characterized this decision as tragic and comical.  So, how does he characterize his own decision to cut off all contact with the Russian ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina? Does he really think that he is a principled person?”, asked the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The embassy added that they consider “heinous the expressions that Bećirović uses to describe the legally elected President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik”.

“Upon reading the opus of Denis Bećirović, one cannot avoid asking a legitimate question: whose vassal is Denis Bećirović himself, when he talks about the “pro-NATO topics”, about which there is no agreement neither in the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina nor throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina? And do the words of Denis Bećirović about the dubiousness of ‘the existence of lower administrative-territorial units, created on November 21, 1995’ conflict with common sense? This is nothing but a direct threat to the Dayton Peace Agreement,” asked the Russian Embassy.

They add that they expect from the guarantors of the Peace Agreement a decisive and unequivocal condemnation of such  “anti-Dayton statements”.
