In joint institutions such as the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH) and the Presidency of BiH, projects for the Federation of BiH (FBiH) will not be approved if those for the Republika Srpska (RS) are obstructed, said Prime Minister of the RS Radovan Viskovic, commenting on the latest move by the European Union (EU), which did not approve money for projects in the RS, but approved 303 million euros for projects in the FBiH.
“Corridor Vc in FBiH will not be approved if there is no approval of the Corridor Vc project in the RS. Therefore, it will not be verified either in the BiH Parliament or in the BiH Presidency,” Viskovic stated.
Moreover, he said that he is not aware of whether someone is punishing someone or trying to do so.
“There are such indications, that is, such a relationship can be read between the lines. But I have to tell you: this is BiH, and the EU cannot choose ‘I want to help Sarajevo a little, but I don’t want to help Banja Luka’. The approval of projects in their entirety goes through the PABiH and the Presidency of BiH. There will be no selective verification of projects that relate to only one entity and not to the whole of BiH. Therefore, everyone who has such intentions or perception of reality is greatly mistaken,” Viskovic explained.
The EU Delegation recently announced that 303 million euros have been earmarked for BiH for four significant infrastructure projects within the framework of the new financial package with a total value of 2.1 billion euros, announced by the European Commission for the support of investment projects in the Balkans.
All funds are intended for projects in FBiH, and none in RS.
