The BiH Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury Edita Đapo spoke today with the Head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission to BiH Ron Van Rooden and the Resident Representative of the IMF to BIH Ruben Atoyan.

At the meeting they spoke about the results of the second review of the IMF Mission, which began on 13 February and will finish next week.

It was estimated that the institutions at the state level are planning to meet their obligations arising from the Letter of Intent from the IMF.

The Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury said that the law on financing institutions in BiH has been adopted in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament. It is currently in the approval process in the House of Peoples.

The adoption of amendments to this act is the structural determinant from the current arrangement with the IMF.

It was emphasized that the proposed legislative amendments to exclude any possibility of abuse of the budget process for servicing foreign debt and the functioning of BiH institutions.

It was pointed out at the meeting that the entity governments have obligations in implementing structural reforms, and that is necessary to persevere in the process so that the Executive Board of the IMF approves the completion of the second review and payment of the third tranche from the stand-by arrangement by the end of March.
