End Of Strike At The Koksara Lukavac, Workers Return To Work

After a two-day general strike, the workers of the Koksara Lukavac returned to work on Friday. The decision to end the strike was made after an agreement was reached with the company management, by which workers were promised payment of the outstanding part of the August salary and the meal allowance no later than Monday. Until then, the strike remains “frozen.”

Shipment of products, which had been completely blocked in the previous days, will be resumed on Saturday in the early morning hours. Priority is the transport of coke to the Lukavac Soda Factory, which the management particularly insisted on due to the continuity of production.

The workers, who had been on duty at the entrances and exits of the factory for the past two days, dispersed this evening and returned to their shifts. The final position on possible new work stoppages will depend on whether the management fulfills the assumed obligations at the beginning of next week.
