brckoB&H Ministry of Civil Affairs announced that the legal framework consisting of laws on citizenship of B&H, FB&H, RS and Brčko district on choosing and changing entity citizenship  has enabled possible acquisition of entity citizenship of their choice or to change the already acquired entity citizenship for citizens of Brčko district.

“Determining the entity citizenship for citizens of Brčko district is essential for achieving the guaranteed rights to vote. Citizens of B&H who are registers at the Brčko central voters register are entitled to vote at the general election ballot, whose nationality they are. Without entity citizenship is not possible to issue an ID or to exercise other rights in the entity”, written in statement.

Citizens who do not have determined entity citizenship or have citizenship of one entity and want the citizenship of another entity should apply to choose or change entity citizenship to the competent ministry of the entity whose nationality they want to acquire, through the Department of Public Registry of Brčko District.
