hidroelektrana-sprečaThe company “EEH-Hidroenergija” from Gračanica received a permit from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Environment of Tuzla Canton for the construction of mini hydro power plants on the river Spreča, said portal Energetika.ba.

The central place on the inter-entity line between the RS and FB&H, municipality Petrovo and Gračanica, in which 4 million BAM will be invested, has to be constructed in the next three years, and the investor guarantees that the farmland in Sprečanska Polje will not be flooded in the area of municipality Petrovo.

After the project documentation is created, public discussions will be organized in Petrovo and Gračanica, where government representatives and citizens will have the opportunity to express their objections to the project before the final license is given out.

The Petrovo Municipal Assembly gave approval mid-July last year on granting prior approval of water to the company from Gračanica.

Citizens of Petrovo, who own land in the immediate vicinity where the construction of the hydro power plant is planned on Spreča, did not express objections to this project.

The investor will clean 700-900 meters of the riverbed, will regulate the same amount on both sides of the coast, rehabilitate the bridge on the river Spreča on the road Petrovo-Orahovica, and municipalities Petrovo and Gračanica will have income from concession fees.
