Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi will be in Sarajevo today, where together with the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, he will chair the High-Level Political Forum.

Members of the collegium of both houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH (PABiH) and representatives of caucuses of both houses of the PA BiH, prime ministers of entities, cantons in the Federation of BiH and the mayor of Brčko District of BiH will participate in the forum.

In the recommendation for the granting of candidate status to Bosnia and Herzegovina from October 2022, the European Commission stated its readiness to further support the efforts of Bosnia and Herzegovina on its European path through the establishment of a high-level Political Forum with the aim of monitoring the implementation of the steps from the recommendation and reporting on the progress achieved on the field.

As part of the 2023 enlargement package, the Commission will once again report on the state of implementation of 14 key priorities from the Commission’s Opinion on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s request for EU membership, the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
