On the occasion of 19 anniversary of genocide committed in Srebrenica, the EU Delegation in B&H expressed sympathy for families that have lost their beloved ones, relatives and friends in this crime against humanity.
“This is the day when 175 victims will be buried at the Memorial center and cemetery in Srebrenica. We join the commemorative gathering and we pay respects on the behalf of EU in this day of pain and grief “, is said in statement.
EU Delegation in B&H on this day once again confirmed the support that EU provides to the ongoing efforts to establish the truth about war crimes that have been committed throughout B&H.
“Crimes of Srebrenica can not be denied, and their perpetrators must be brought to justice. Insistence on that assures families of the victims that their sufferings are not forgotten, and it will eventually contribute to the recovery of war-torn society in B&H”, part of the statement.
EU Delegation in B&H expects from authorities in B&H to be at the forefront in honoring the victims and promote reconciliation, because that is necessary to establish an appropriate social and political environment in which B&H will be able to fulfill European ambitions, based on peace, stability and prosperity for all citizens.
