The EU Delegation to BiH and the Office of the Special Representative of the EU welcomed the achieved results of negotiations in Zagreb that were held on 12 June between the negotiating teams of BiH and Croatia.
Initiating two key border agreements-on border crossings and border traffic, is an important step forward, announced the EU Delegation to BIH.
At the same time, yesterday’s prompt adoption of two agreements mentioned by the Council of Ministers of BiH represents one more important step towards the finalization of the remaining issues of border management between the EU and BiH.
“Therefore, we call on all members of the BiH Presidency to consider two agreements at the next regular meeting on Monday, 17 June and to make the appropriate decision. The decision of the Presidency would allow the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to sign two of the mentioned agreements and the joint statement/interpretative note for passage to and from Port Ploče and through the territory of BiH and Neum at the next trilateral meeting at the ministerial level between BiH, Croatia and the European Commission. The meeting is planned for 19 June in Brussels’’, announced in a statement.
The signing and entry into force of the agreement would also allow a special arrangement on the entrance through Ploče, which would make it possible to export goods of animal origin that is not in accordance with European standards from BiH to third countries through the Port of Ploče.
