The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted two key laws on the path to European integration at an extraordinary session today, announced the Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Borjana Krišto on X order.
These are the Law on Border Control and the Law on Personal Data Protection.
“An important step towards strengthening security and compliance with EU standards,” said Krišto.
Croatian MEP Davor Ivo Stier welcomed the adoption of the draft law on border control and personal data protection by the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Stier stressed that this step is significant for the opening of negotiations with the European Union and that it is proof that progress and agreements are possible “with persistent work and political will”.
Stier also stressed that the European Parliament delegation will continue to support Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path towards the EU.
“We expect the same from the member states at the EU-Western Balkans summit,” added Stier, who is the head of the European Parliament delegation for relations with BiH and Kosovo.
