Within the EU funded project ‘EU Support to Migration and Border Management in BiH’ the International Organization for Migration (IOM) handed over equipment to the Ministry of Interior of Una-Sana Canton (USC).

With this donation, the police forces will be additionally provided with 35 radios and laryngophones worth BAM 41,775.00, 15 pieces of ethylometre with associated printers worth BAM 31,035.00, 45 computers and a projector with a total value of BAM 47,455.00.

The equipment was handed over by Vladimir Mitkovski, IOM Area Emergency Coordinator to Avrudin Muminovic, Commander of the Special Support Unit of the Ministry of Interior of Una-Sana Canton.

“This donation of equipment by the European Union is a remarkable contribution to the efforts of the USC Police to ensure the security in our Canton for both USC citizens and all the persons temporarily residing or transiting through Bosnia and Herzegovina. I thank the donor as well as the IOM who have recognized the important role of the USC Police in addressing the migration issue in our country and I expect that the European Union, as well as the IOM, will continue to actively support us in all our activities related to the migrant situation in the coming year” said Mujo Koricic, Police Commissioner within the Ministry of Interior of Una-Sana Canton.

The project “EU Support to Migration and Border Management in Bosnia and Herzegovina” is funded by the European Union with €14.8 million and is implemented by the IOM in partnership with UNHCR, UNICEF, UNFPA and the Danish Refugee Council (DRC).
