romi-696x456Six Roma families, who are beneficiaries of the social housing project for the Roma population, received housing units in the local community – Kiseljak, Tuzla. The project was conducted by the Hilfswerk Austria in the framework of the EU program “Roma Action”.

The aim of the project is to support the implementation of the Roma action plans in B&H, with the contribution of improving living conditions and socio-economic involvement of marginalized Roma people with the active involvement and participation of local authorities.

“This is an important social program that we are implementing, and after distributed 16 apartments in the local community of Si Selo, with the help of Hilfswerk Austria International and EU, six more families received their keys today. The reconstruction of six damaged houses was previously completed. The project is worth about 320, 000 BAM, and reconstruction of the surrounding municipal infrastructure, asphalt, street lighting, water and sewage was done also, all in order to respond to the needs of the citizens of this local community. Our request is that children, who are the beneficiaries of this program, regularly attend school. This is an example of an excellent cooperation with domestic and foreign organizations, “said Jasmin Imamovic, Mayor of Tuzla.
