Ambassador Johann Sattler met Chair of the BiH Presidency Zeljko Komsic on Wednesday to present his credentials as the new Head of the Delegation of the European Union and EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At a ceremony at the BiH Presidency building in Sarajevo, Ambassador Sattler said that he is looking forward to working with the BiH Presidency, as well as other levels of government, to facilitate and support reform efforts to bring Bosnia and Herzegovina into line with EU standards.

“I cannot think of a more stimulating post than being the EU representative here in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the latest country to apply for EU membership and a place of enormous significance for European history and cultural heritage,” Ambassador Sattler said.

Ambassador Sattler emphasised that the work ahead of the country and his priorities for the coming period will be guided by the European Commission’s Opinion on the country’s EU membership application, published in May this year.
