electricityCommenting on today’s decision by the State Electricity Regulatory Commission of BiH, EUD/EUSR spokesperson Andy McGuffie said:

“We note today’s approval of the Long Term Transmission Network Development Plan 2014 – 2023 by the State Electricity Regulatory Commission, which is a positive step. The adoption of this Plan by State Electricity Regulatory Commission is one of the conditions stipulated in the Conclusions from the EU – BIH Ministerial Meeting on Energy Matters held in Brussels on 28th January 2014 in regard to further distribution of TRANSCO net income.

“In the light of this positive development, the EU underlines that it is of high importance for the parties involved to continue working together in order to ensure efficient and prudent operation of BiH TRANSCO. Moreover,  BiH authorities should build on this positive cooperation and start undertaking the necessary steps towards fulfilment of the country’s obligations in the energy sector stemming from the Energy Community Treaty.”
