The Commander of EUFOR, Major General Maurizio Fronda, met with the Mayor of Bratunac, Mr. Lazar Prodanović, today.

During the meeting, the mayor of Bratunac presented current development projects in his city, as well as some future plans and ideas. Major General Fronda praised these efforts, underlining their importance for future of the entire country.

As part of the programme, the Commander also visited AUT Liaison and Observation Team (LOT) Houses in Bratunac. The visit provided a great opportunity for the Commander to gain first-hand insight into how EUFOR personnel engage with local communities in their daily activities in this area. Austrian LOT team from Bratunac briefed Major General Fronda on their ongoing community engagement efforts and the strong, trust-based relationships they have established with local citizens and institutions.

These engagements underline EUFOR’s enduring commitment, under Operation Althea, to maintaining close cooperation with local communities and partners across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
