Following the successful opening ceremony held at Camp Butmir on the afternoon of Sunday the 6 October, the troops taking part in exercise Quick Response 19 started deploying to locations all over Bosnia and Herzegovina on Monday 7 October.

During the 7-11 October citizens may notice an increased presence of EUFOR troops. Dynamic exercises will also be occurring in public places, in conjunction with units from the Armed Forces BiH and BiH Law Enforcement Agencies. These exercises and troop movements are not related to any current security concerns and are purely part of exercise Quick Response 19.

Quick Response is the longstanding annual test of EUFOR’s capability to rapidly reinforce its troops in BiH with part of its reserve forces which are held at high-readiness in partner nations, this year the reserve troops have arrived from Austria, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Romania, the United Kingdom and KFOR. Quick Response is a large scale exercise demonstrating the EU’s resolve and commitment to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
