The Embassy of Sweden, in cooperation with the Swedish Institute, will participate in the Sarajevo Innovation Summit 2019. The programme of the Summit will address a range of presentations by innovation experts in different sectors from Sweden who will speak about global challenges through technology and innovation.

A sustainable future requires a completely new type of innovation. We need to transform our society, cities, our welfare, value chains and consumption patterns to sustainable alternatives. This requires new legislation, rules and structures enabling and supporting transformation. It also requires collaboration on a broad front, between organizations, industries and countries. Moving from idea to innovation requires learning and collaboration. Sweden would like to share values and cooperate with Bosnia and Herzegovina – on responsibility, sustainability, and doing more with less. Our countries can unleash co-innovation and co-creation to find solutions to global challenges. We assist at deepening cooperation in the areas of environment, innovation eco systems, smart cities, energy efficiency and the innovative businesses as well as developing the startup communities and allowing startups to grow and prosper.

Apart from H.E. Johanna Stromquist, Ambassador of Sweden to Bosnia and Herzegovina, who will make an opening speech, the Embassy would like to announce participation of the following experts from Sweden: dr. Nadav Shir, Affiliated Researcher at Stockholm School of Economics, Tobias Degsell, Founder of COMBINER, Sana Alajmović, Co-Founder & CEO of Sigrid Therapeutics AB, Aida Hadžialić, former Swedish Minister for Upper Secondary Education who has been recently appointed the opposition leader for the Social Democrats in the Region Stockholm Assmbly,Ulf Bordos, Swedish Incubators & Science Parks, Nedim Efendić, Mapping Startup & Innovation Ecosystem andand Jonas Törnblom, holder of 20 international patents/ patent applications in the area of environmental technology and initiator of the Stockholm School of Governance

During the Sarajevo Innovation Summit that will take place on Thursday 10 October 2019 at 09.30 h at the City Hall, The Embassy of Sweden in cooperation with the Swedish Institute will present the exhibition “The Smart City” which aims to show the width of the challenges within urbanization, but also how we globally have much in common in the work to move forward.
