The first convoy from the Czech Republic entered Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) yesterday via the Svilaj border crossing and is now moving towards the Butmir base, EUFOR announced.

Czech and Hungarian reserve forces, together with members of Kosovo Force (KFOR), the NATO-led force in Kosovo, will join EUFOR’s forces already deployed in the country and participate with them in Quick Response 2025, our large annual exercise.

When all the forces scheduled to take part arrive, an integration exercise will be conducted, followed by the full-scale implementation of Quick Response.

In addition, members of the Armed Forces of BiH (AFBiH) and law enforcement agencies in BiH will also be training together with EUFOR personnel.

The goal of the exercise is to improve the operational readiness of all forces involved and to confirm EUFOR’s lasting support to partners in BiH in maintaining a safe and stable environment throughout the country.

Starting from 2012, EUFOR has conducted the Quick Response exercise every year, with the exception of 2014, when the exercise was canceled due to major floods. That year, all deployed troops joined the AFBiH in providing support to domestic authorities during the crisis, as part of a joint humanitarian operation called Joint Effort 2014, EUFOR stated yesterday.
